Hi, I’m Captain Lori Deaton of Ladyfish Charters. I’ve been guiding angler’s of all skill levels throughout Tampa Bay and it’s tributaries for over 20 years. Although I run most of my guided trips out the Apollo Beach area, I am a seasoned guide in all of Tampa Bay giving my clients many different convenient options for pick up.
Tampa Bay is Florida’s largest open water estuary that borders many counties. It’s source of water comes from over a hundred tributaries with four major rivers, the Alafia, Hillsborough, Little Manatee, and the Manatee rivers. These areas boast the best in inshore light tackle fishing bar none. Our idyllic weather provides opportunity to fish year-round catching an exciting array of species including snook, trout, redfish, cobia, tarpon, sharks.
While I consider my charter service to be “no-pressure” & “pure fun” I work hard at knowing the location of the species we will be targeting and the best baits and techniques to capture them.
Over the past several years I noticed an influx of woman of all ages showing interest in fishing. Not only was my client base growing with females, more were showing up at my seminars, calling for advice and of the family’s that were coming out, the ladies and girls really wanted to learn as much as I was willing to teach them. As a result, I thought it would be a great idea to start Reel Ladies Fishing, a ladies only group that hosts clinics, seminars, tournaments, & workshops.
I am the very proud Co- Founder & Director of Hooked on Hope. Hooked on Hope, Inc. is a local non-profit organization founded in 2009 that is dedicated to raising funds for uninsured and underinsured patients throughout our surrounding communities. We raise funds through an annual fishing tournament, golf tournament, pamper party, and silent auction.
Hooked on Hope funds are disbursed year-round through “treatment support grants” which provide direct patient care and support patients during their difficult journey through breast cancer treatment.
